What is the Asus WL-HDD?
- In a Nutshell, the Asus WL-HDD is a compact external hard disk that provides Ethernet and 802.11g wireless NAS features. It functions as an Access Point or a Wireless client. It also includes by default some handy features such as a DHCP and FTP server.
- Whilst the Firmware that comes installed on the WL-HDD provides basic functionality, if unofficial firmware is installed (Olegs firmware), the WL-HDD effectively becomes a mini linux box running a small linux distribution and allowing the installation of many standard linux packages and services.
