Creating a Thread

The WL-HDD does not have a thread for the screws. The screws are self-threading screws.

This means that when you screw the screws into the screw holes the first time, you are creating the thread.

This means two things:

  • It is necessary to get this right otherwise the screws wont go in properly
  • It will be very stiff to turn the screwdriver- don't worry!
  1. Place the screw in the hole and make sure it is vertical.
  2. Apply Downward pressure with the screwdriver and slowly turn.
  3. Ensure that the screw continues to enter vertically.
  4. Once the screw has been inserted, procede to unscrew and rescrew a few times to emphasise the thread, this should ensure that the screw will follow this thread every time the screw is removed or inserted.
