Please post your problem below the line below and if you are lucky, somebody might create a guide on how to resolve it.

Please make sure that you post as much information as you can:

What firmware are you running?
Are you using a WL-HDD or a WL500g?
What topic does this problem cover (Samba, FTP?)
What error messages have been displayed (if any)

Thanks.

Changes to post-mount are not reflected

Check out this guide on committing to flash

Flashing OpenWrt to WL-HDD

I'm trying to flash the latest (rc4) openwrt to a wl-hdd. I have no troubles flashing the latest asus-firmware, Oleg's firmware works, too (1.9.2.7-7b), but for openwrt (openwrt-brcm-2.4-jffs2-4MB.trx) I always get

Firmware Upgrade Fail !

Firmware upgrade fail. It may result from incorrect image or error transmission.
Please check the version of firmware and try again.

Have you tried using the firmware restoration tool to put the OpenWrt firmware onto the WL-HDD? This has always worked for me. You should look at Upgrade and the page on the firmware restoration tool. The tool can be found on the CD you receive with your WL-HDD from asus.

I know this site isn't about OpenWrt but updating firmware is a general issue. Thanks.

Printing a document

I'm trying to print a document with the lastest Oleg's firmware (IP adress 192.168.1.220, RAW port 9100), but the device isn't recognized (Brother 1430 and Epson Stylus 760, after reboot). In the status page there is no model printed and no printer status... And there is nothing in the /dev/usb folder. Any idea ? Thanks.

1. Try to use ip=192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.220, port 9100, raw, if no sucess goto para.2

2. Install printer driver on your PC. Connect your printer to your PC. Check if it works. :) If no - check printer, driver, system... If it works OK go to para.3 :)

3. Disconect your printer from PC and connect it to WL-HDD. Turn printer on. Turn WL-HDD on. Wait 1 minute.

goto para.1
